Dr. David Davis
Dr. David C Davis wanted to be a veterinarian since he was in the 8th grade. He grew up in a small town near Fresno, Ca. with pets and sheep, which he showed in his FFA chapter. He graduated from the University of California, Davis, with his DVM and then moved to New York City to study in an internship and residency in internal medicine at the famous Animal Medical Center. Dr. Davis also worked in a research program in New York to help women with breast cancer at the world famous Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Hospital. Dr. Davis then returned to UC Davis to pursue a National Institute of Health post-doctoral fellowship in advanced studies in Immunology. Dr. Davis passed the rigorous testing required to complete the Specialty in Internal Medicine to become a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is a member of AVMA, SVVMA, CVMA, and ACVIM.
In practice, Dr. Davis enjoys seeing all of the many clients and their pets that he has known for many years. Children of original clients enjoy bringing their children and their pets in to get their check ups at Summer Hills. While seeing his many cases, Dr. Davis still finds time to get away for lots of continuing education. Medicine has many new and exciting changes going on whether or not it’s human or veterinary medicine. Dr. Davis tries to incorporate into Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital as many of the latest new advances in veterinary medicine as possible to provide to his patients. He performs endoscopy, laparoscopy, cystoscopy, and bronchoscopy.
When not at the office, Dr. Davis and his wife, Robin, enjoy watching old movies and fly fishing.
Come in and say, “Hi”, and find out about all the latest, exciting advances in veterinary medicine!
Dr. Grady Wills
Dr. Grady Wills graduated from UC Davis in 1974 and was a classmate of Dr.Davis. He grew up with dogs, cats and horses and thought he wanted to be a cowboy. A family friend who was a real cowboy and an Oscar winning actor, Ben Johnson, pointed him toward a career in veterinary medicine where he could care for cattle and horses. He decided in 7th grade he would follow Ben’s advice and strive to become a veterinarian. This meant he needed to start taking his school work more seriously! He worked in a veterinary practice before entering veterinary school and as a veterinary student realized that his real strength was in taking care of dogs and cats and their owners. He did work with cattle and poultry and human health education in Zaire, Africa (currently named the Democratic Republic of the Congo) in the 70’s and 90’s, but always returned to his first love of working with pets and their owners. Dr. Wills owned and operated Roseville Veterinary Hospital for 11 years before leaving for Africa the second time. He speaks French and an African language and knows some Spanish
Currently he enjoys working part-time with his old friend Dr. Davis and his excellent staff. Dr. Davis mentored him for many years, and Dr. Wills loves working with a man of integrity and a love of learning.
Dr. Wills’ interests outside of work include competitive pistol shooting, camping, sailing and spending time with his wife, 5 children and 7 grandchildren.
Kelly Jo has worked a long side of Dr. Davis at Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital since 1998. She is responsible for the smooth operation of the hospital, facilities, inventory and marketing. Kelly Jo is our problem solver!
She grew up with farm animals and had a lot of pets. Kelly Jo showed her pig “Fred,” at the county fair with her FFA class. Her current furry children are Duke, the caring yellow Labrador retriever, Annie, the full of life Golden Retriever, and Onyx, a beautiful Black Bombay.
When Kelly Jo is not in the hospital she loves to fish, with her husband, Mike. She likes to clean and organize her house, but she loves being outside camping, hiking, biking or taking Duke & Annie rollerblading.
I've been part of the Summer Hills family since 2014. Having always loved animals and caring for them, I went through Carrington College veterinary technology program and graduated in 2015. I've been around cats, horses, cows, rabbits, small rodents, and, of course, dogs all my life.
My special cat’s name is Rajah, whom I love very much. My other job is pet sitting. I also enjoy photography, hiking, writing short stories, and spending time with my family.
I've been working in the veterinary field since 2015 and the medical field since 2010. I've worked at full service emergency hospitals as a nurse & translator. I am now part of the Summer Hills team as a receptionist and enjoy greeting & checking in all your pets. Occasionally you'll see me taking pictures of your pets for our online system. I grew up with my parents rehabbing local wildlife & always had many exotic pets. I live with my husband and our fur-child a mini Aussie who we love taking to local dog parks. When I'm not working I'm either doing educational volunteer work, painting or learning a new hobby.
I started out at Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital as the face you see when you walk through the doors! With my love for animals and Dr. Davis's knowledge and leadership I am taking on many roles here at the hospital. When I am not working I can be found running around with my husband and two kids with my dog daughter Jersey at local parks and recreational areas. I also have 2 cats and 1 turtle that are rescue pets. My hobbies include swimming, camping, dancing and singing.
