DrDavis.jpgDr. David Davis

Dr. David C Davis wanted to be a veterinarian since he was in the 8th grade. He grew up in a small town near Fresno, Ca. with pets and sheep, which he showed in his FFA chapter. He graduated from the University of California, Davis, with his DVM and then moved to New York City to study in an internship and residency in internal medicine at the famous Animal Medical Center. Dr. Davis also worked in a research program in New York to help women with breast cancer at the world famous Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Hospital. Dr. Davis then returned to UC Davis to pursue a National Institute of Health post-doctoral fellowship in advanced studies in Immunology. Dr. Davis passed the rigorous testing required to complete the Specialty in Internal Medicine to become a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is a member of AVMA, SVVMA, CVMA, and ACVIM.

In practice, Dr. Davis enjoys seeing all of the many clients and their pets that he has known for many years. Children of original clients enjoy bringing their children and their pets in to get their check ups at Summer Hills. While seeing his many cases, Dr. Davis still finds time to get away for lots of continuing education. Medicine has many new and exciting changes going on whether or not it’s human or veterinary medicine. Dr. Davis tries to incorporate into Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital as many of the latest new advances in veterinary medicine as possible to provide to his patients. He performs endoscopy, laparoscopy, cystoscopy, and bronchoscopy.

When not at the office, Dr. Davis and his wife, Robin, enjoy watching old movies and fly fishing.

Come in and say, “Hi”, and find out about all the latest, exciting advances in veterinary medicine!

#Dr. Grady Wills

Dr. Grady Wills graduated from UC Davis in 1974 and was a classmate of Dr.Davis. He grew up with dogs, cats and horses and thought he wanted to be a cowboy. A family friend who was a real cowboy and an Oscar winning actor, Ben Johnson, pointed him toward a career in veterinary medicine where he could care for cattle and horses. He decided in 7th grade he would follow Ben’s advice and strive to become a veterinarian. This meant he needed to start taking his school work more seriously! He worked in a veterinary practice before entering veterinary school and as a veterinary student realized that his real strength was in taking care of dogs and cats and their owners. He did work with cattle and poultry and human health education in Zaire, Africa (currently named the Democratic Republic of the Congo) in the 70’s and 90’s, but always returned to his first love of working with pets and their owners. Dr. Wills owned and operated Roseville Veterinary Hospital for 11 years before leaving for Africa the second time. He speaks French and an African language and knows some Spanish

Currently he enjoys working part-time with his old friend Dr. Davis and his excellent staff. Dr. Davis mentored him for many years, and Dr. Wills loves working with a man of integrity and a love of learning.

Dr. Wills’ interests outside of work include competitive pistol shooting, camping, sailing and spending time with his wife, 5 children and 7 grandchildren.

Danielle Quinton, RVT, CVPM

Hospital Administrator

Danielle Quinton started her career in the veterinary field while attending the University of California, Davis. Initially pre-vet, Danielle fell into the drama department at UC Davis and graduated in 1990 with a BA in Dramatic Art. During her college career, she worked for a small corporation that owned 5 hospitals in the Sacramento area, where Sunset Animal Medical Center was the main hospital. Her love of animals prevailed as she progressed to management at their Mather hospital and obtained her RVT license in 1993. She left veterinary medicine from 1994-2010 in order to manage and operate her family's RadioShack franchise. Coming full circle in 2010, she regained employment with Dr. Jay Griffiths at Sunset AMC, where she started her career years earlier.   She then joined AB Science USA as the Northwest Regional Sales Representative in July 2012 to promote Kinavet, a mast cell tumor targeted therapy, to veterinarians throughout the Northwest.  In January 2016, Danielle rejoined the Sunset AMC team where she took a leadership role.  She was offered the hospital manager position when Sunset AMC was acquired by VCA in October 2016 and obtained her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager credential in January 2018.  Danielle left VCA in March 2019 to manage the non-profit Animal Spay and Neuter in Auburn, CA.  She realized her skills would be better suited for a full-service hospital, which lead to her joining the Summer Hills team.  She is extremely excited and honored to lead the fantastic team at Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital to facilitate the well-being of animals in our area.  Danielle lives in Sacramento and has two sons that are both in college.   She enjoys running, biking, and just about anything outdoors. She absolutely loves the greater Sacramento area, as it is so diverse in geography and things to do.  She also adores her two cats, Callie and Barry.
