At Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital we offer complete General Practice Veterinary care such as wellness exams & vaccines while also able to care for specialty referral cases & 2nd opinion consultations by our internal medicine specialist, Dr.Davis.  Our hospital is fully equipped with it's very own laboratory that allows us to provide same day diagnostics. We also have radiology, dental, anesthesiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, surgical capabilities & an in house pharmacy to better serve our community.

We at Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital in Citrus Heights California care about your pets & strive to offer exceptional care! Our goal is for you to leave informed & feeling like you got all your questions answered. Here you can be assured we won't "band-aid" your pets symptoms temporarily, instead we like to take our time to address the actual problem.

The thing most of our clients comment on is how thorough Dr.Davis is with all his visits, and the time he takes to ensure you leave feeling like all your questions were answered. We at Summer Hills Vet only practice the best veterinary medicine for your pets and will not settle for any less. Our veterinary team is constantly researching the latest & best veterinary medicine & want to keep your pet feeling their best!

We believe the best medicine is prevention!

We encourage yearly health screenings, regular blood tests, vaccines & monthly preventatives. Why?

As humans age, we require regular checkups/blood tests to help our doctors monitor our health, especially for things that can go unnoticed. Dogs & cats are no different.Your pets need to be screened annually as they may appear to be healthy but can be potentially hiding an illness as this makes them vulnerable in nature & are unable to voice how they're feeling.

What a visit with us is like:

When you visit please bring in any medical history you have of your pet. It's best to keep a record of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. Dr. Davis can still work with whatever information you have.

When you bring your pet for their annual wellness visit this will include a full physical exam & from head to tail. If there are any recommendations our doctors will go over them with you giving you peace of mind. Should bloodwork, treatment or vaccines be needed our nurses will take your pet to our treatment area while you wait up front in our waiting room. Once your pet is done our nurse will come back up & make sure all your questions are answered. If there are any medications we will go over them like you would with your pharmacist, as well as any at home nursing care that may be required. After your visit is done our reception will schedule any follow up care if needed.

If you ever get home and have any questions about your visit feel free to give us a call! That's what we're here for!

We look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! Call 916-726-3001 to schedule an appointment!
